Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a contract assignment in a fast‑paced acute care setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong emergency nursing skills, excellent critical thinking abilities, and experience managing a wide range of patient acuity levels.
Schedule- Contract assignment
- 36 hours per week
- Three 12‑hour shifts per week
- Rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights as assigned)
- Must be available to work consecutive weekends as needed
- Holiday coverage required
- Assess, prioritize, and provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
- Perform rapid patient evaluations and initiate appropriate interventions
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in clinical status
- Administer medications, treatments, and emergency procedures according to physician orders and facility protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Assist with trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and other emergency situations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and quality standards
- Active Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to contract start
- Minimum of 5 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Strong clinical assessment and critical care skills
- Ability to thrive in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Candidates with any of the following certifications are highly desired:
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
- ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses)
- STABLE
- ASLS (Advanced Stroke Life Support)
- Other specialty certifications relevant to emergency nursing practice
- Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Emergency patient triage and prioritization
- Trauma and critical care management
- Rapid decision‑making and problem‑solving
