Position: Pediatric Clinical Faculty (Part Time

Chamberlain University is a regionally accredited institution offering a range of nursing and health professions programs. This role is part of the College of Nursing’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

Opportunity at a Glance

Part‑time Pediatric Clinical Faculty for a 12‑hour rotation (7a‑7p) lasting 3‑4 consecutive days at a clinical partner site.

Pediatric Nursing Course Overview

Family‑centered care of children from infancy through adolescence, focusing on health promotion, illness prevention, and rehabilitation.

Role Responsibilities
  • Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, and program objectives through clinical teaching and service.
  • Take responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
  • Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students.
  • Provide documented feedback to students on performance based on course objectives.
  • Offer remediation to students as required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Develop and post written clinical assignments aligned with students’ knowledge base, skill competency, and learning needs.
  • Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work promptly.
  • May teach didactic course content under supervision of the course coordinator.
  • Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
  • Report to the dean or assistant dean; course coordinator provides direct oversight.
Qualifications
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Unencumbered professional nursing license in the state of Hawaii.
  • At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in an instructional role as a registered nurse.
  • Teaching or precepting experience preferred but not required.
  • Passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
  • Exceptional subject‑matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect, and care.
  • Illinois RN license required to teach all courses (prioritized for currently licensed instructors).
Compensation

Expected compensation ranges from $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the credit hour assigned to the course. Actual pay may be adjusted based on factors such as course type, experience, training, geographic location, licensure, market factors, departmental budgets, and responsibility.
