Travel RN - Mother Baby - Post Partum

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Post Partum position requiring an active HI RN license and recent labor and delivery/postpartum skills.

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Minimum 1 year recent full-time equivalent experience within the last 3 years
• Current BLS certification
• Current Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring
• Demonstrated IV skills and ability to perform lab draws
• Demonstrated knowledge of high risk medication administration including Magnesium, Oxytocin, and Insulin
• Demonstrated ability to perform Urine Point of Care testing
• Demonstrated knowledge of capillary blood glucose testing and iStat
• Demonstrated ability to perform adult cardiac monitoring
• Demonstrated knowledge of newborn monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring
• Demonstrated ability to perform heel sticks/venipuncture on newborns
• Demonstrated knowledge of newborn IV medication administration and maintenance
• Demonstrated knowledge of Bili-blankets/lights and radiant warmers
• Demonstrated knowledge to support gyn teaching, post-operative bladder training, and maternal-newborn teaching
• Bachelor s degree in nursing or related field preferred
• 3 years of labor and delivery experience preferred
• 3 years of postpartum experience preferred
• 1 year of medical/surgical nursing experience preferred
• Last 4 digits of SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Licenses and certifications must be active at time of consideration; pending credentials not accepted

Responsibilities

• Work in the Post Partum (PP) unit of a hospital setting
• Care for maternal-newborn patient population including high risk cases
• 12-hour shifts, day/night variable, from 07:15 AM to 07:45 PM
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• 36 hours per week over a 13-week assignment
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide comprehensive care to postpartum and newborn patients including monitoring, medication administration, and patient education
• Support gynecological and post-operative bladder training as needed
