As a RN you are responsible for providing and coordinating comprehensive nursing care for residents, ensuring their health, safety, comfort, and quality of life. RNs assess residents' health conditions, develops and implements care plans, administers medications and treatments, monitors changes in health status, and collaborates with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members. RNs maintain accurate medical records, ensures compliance with Department of Health and CMS regulations, and promotes a resident-centered environment that supports dignity and independence.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions.
- Monitor and document residents' health status and responses to treatment.
- Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Support CNAs and other nursing staff.
- Respond to medical emergencies and changes in resident conditions.
- Educate residents and families regarding health conditions and care plans.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility policies and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Valid state of Hawaii RN or LPN license in good standing.
- Must be available to work agreed upon varied schedules including weekends and holidays.
- Must be flexible to float to different units within the department.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to communicate with residents, families, and associates.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to solve problems under minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with basic computer functions, including email, web browsers, standard office applications, and electronic health records systems to document resident care and clinical workflows per regulation.
- Ability to lift, transfer and assist residents safely, including standing, bending, and prolonged walking or standing.
- Proof of annual tuberculosis clearance in accordance with state regulations.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
- Previous nursing experience in a long-term care or acute care setting.
Equivalent experience or education may be substituted at the hiring manager’s discretion for educational or work experience requirements.
