Staff Nurse - Progressive Care

About This Role

The Staff Nurse in Progressive Care at Kaiser Permanente provides nursing care and services to patients and families, while also directing licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and nursing assistive personnel. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who are looking to take on leadership responsibilities in a dynamic healthcare environment.

• Pay: $50.74 - $72.49/hour
• Location: Honolulu, HI
• Facility: Moanalua Medical Center
• Department/Unit: Progressive Care Unit
• Schedule: Part-time, Night shift

• Provide nursing care and services to patients and families.
• Delegate nursing care according to legal and regulatory guidelines.
• Utilize nursing process to deliver care.
• Administer medications.
• Teach LPNs and nursing assistive personnel special tasks of nursing care.
• Verify staff competency to perform special tasks of nursing care.
• Function as primary nurse/total patient caregiver.
• Serve as resource nurse and act as preceptor.
• Perform administrative and other duties as assigned.
• Maintain clinical expertise and competency necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.

• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience: One (1) year experience in area of specialty or completion of formal course in area of specialty within established timeframe.

  • Registered Nurse License (Hawaii)
  • Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 12 months of hire from American Heart Association
  • PICC line certification within one (1) year of hire for Ambulatory Treatment Center nurses.
