- Coordinate departmental activities and staff for optimum patient care.
- Make/document assignments based on patient needs and staff competencies.
- Monitor daily staffing and adjust according to census and unit needs.
- Provide clear, consistent direction for staff.
- Practice professional nursing and delegate tasks to nursing assistive personnel.
- Utilize nursing process to deliver care.
- Administer medications.
