RN Nurse, Private Duty Nurse, Healthcare Nursing
Bright Star Care of Honolulu is hiring PRN Registered Nurses to provide one-to-one, in-home care across Oahu. You choose your availability, we match you with cases that fit. Weekly pay, 24/7 clinical backup, and a local team that actually knows your name.
If your calling is caring for others, come work for a Joint Commission Accredited, kamaʻāina-owned company that lives its Hoku'alohi Promise: to provide the kind of care we would want for our own loved ones, to be compassionate, empathetic, patient, and kind while delivering top‑quality professional home care.
No OASIS. No Medicare charting. Clean electronic documentation through a straightforward visit-based workflow.
Is this role right for you?
PRN work at BSCH is variable by design. Most of our PRN nurses work between 3 and 16 hours per week, and the number moves based on client census and case needs. As our skilled nursing division grows, so will the hours.
This works well for nurses who want supplemental income, are between roles, work part‑time elsewhere, or want to stay clinically active on their own terms.
This is not a fit if you need a guaranteed weekly minimum. If you require a set number of hours every week, we would rather tell you now than have you find out after onboarding.
COMPENSATION
- $50.00/hr base rate for continuous and hourly skilled care
- Higher case rates available for many hourly skilled-care assignments
- $75.00 flat rate for initial assessments and home safety assessments
- $50.00 flat rate for reassessments and recertifications
- $40.00/hr for orientation and shadow shifts
- Weekly pay with direct deposit
- Mileage reimbursement between clients at the prevailing IRS rate
