Eurofins Built Environment Testing offers Industrial Hygiene (IH) and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) services to protect health in built environments for a diverse client base, including consultants, industry, real estate, healthcare, government, and homeowners.
Services cover a wide range of tests including asbestos (PLM/TEM), mold, bacteria, VOCs, allergens, Legionella, radon, lead, silica, and more.
Eurofins Built Environment Testing is looking for an experienced Asbestos Analyst in Folsom, CA. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities- Prepare and analyze aerobiological and environmental samples for asbestos.
- Accurately enter and report analytical data using the LIMS.
- Perform independent data reviews of other analysts’ work.
- Analyze reference materials, proficiency samples, and other quality control samples as needed.
- Maintain client service and provide technical support as needed.
- Assist the QA manager in developing, implementing, and collecting data for QA processes for different analytical tests.
- Confirm lab results as requested by client services personnel.
- Complete all analytical testing and quality assurance related tasks as required.
- Assist in pursuing, receiving, and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations.
- Maintain and update all necessary training and QA documents onsite.
- Coordinate and manage projects according to rush status and due dates for timely delivery.
- Assist coworkers on analytical questions as necessary.
- Participate in Lean initiatives as needed.
- Follow company policies and procedures and ensure coworkers do the same.
- Manage and maintain the inventory of re‑sale supply items and laboratory consumables, ordering supplies as needed.
- Manage and dispose of analyzed samples as necessary.
- Provide training support for relevant analytical services (e.g., mycology, bacteriology, asbestos).
- Recommend and coordinate sample transfer as necessary.
- Establish and maintain laboratory stock culture and reference samples.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for errors and issues as necessary.
- Maintain all equipment properly and coordinate servicing of all laboratory equipment used.
- Routinely communicate available capacity to Regional Manager.
- Support other departments within the lab (e.g., mycology, asbestos, bacteriology) when appropriate and as needed.
- Perform other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Supervisor/Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience performing asbestos microscopy (2–3 years of experience is ideal).
- Must be able to work in Folsom, CA.
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, geology, or a closely related science.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
- Professional working proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Ideal Candidate Attributes- 8 units of Microbiology courses preferred.
- General regulatory requirements knowledge.
- Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
USD 22–26 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
Sign‑on bonus is available for qualified candidates with PLM Asbestos Analysis experience.
Position is full‑time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with weekends and overtime as needed.
