OverviewHitachi Rail seeks an enthusiastic, self‑motivated HSE Advisor to support safety and compliance across Pearl City operations, ensuring alignment with FTA, OSHA, GBMS, and local standards.
Responsibilities- Establish, document, implement, maintain, and continually improve the HSE Management System for the project.
- Implement activities in compliance with HSE Policies, Legislative requirements, and customer requirements.
- Complete HSE hazard identification, risk assessment, and determine necessary controls.
- Lead the HSE Compliance and Management System Audits.
- Develop HSE programs to achieve planned objectives and regulatory compliance.
- Drive HSE Local Communication, Participation and Consultation, including forming a site safety committee.
- Identify emergency scenarios and develop appropriate response measures.
- Monitor, report, and communicate HSE performance; recommend solutions when trends decline.
- Ensure all HSE accidents and incidents are reported, investigated, and analyzed for lessons learned.
- Identify findings, nonconformities, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct regular inspections of the Rail Operations Center facility and all stations to meet HSE Management System and OSHA Standard compliance.
- Work cross‑functionally to support operations and engage leaders across the organization.
- Build and deliver safety meetings.
- 5–7 years in a safety‑related role.
- OSHA 30 General Industry certification or equivalent.
- Strong communication, presentation, and training delivery skills.
- Experience engaging stakeholders across disciplines in HSE programs.
- Experience implementing ISO 14001 and 45001 compliant programs and policies.
- Site safety program implementation experience.
- Ability to inspect and evaluate environments, equipment, and practices for compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to foster safety culture.
- Written communication skills for timely, accurate reporting.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office, Access, SharePoint, and related systems.
- Valid, non‑probationary driver’s license.
- Incident root‑cause investigation skills and ability to handle sensitive situations.
- OSHA 510, 511, 2264, 3095, 3115 certifications.
- Confined space entry and fall protection qualifications.
- Rail or public transit safety and security program experience.
- Certified safety professional certifications (BCSP) and ISO auditor qualifications.
- Knowledge of Eco‑Online, Team Center, Maximo, and Power Apps.
High school diploma or equivalent.
LanguageEnglish proficiency required.
Salary$93,700 to $140,600, commensurate with experience.
