Position: NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTER with Security Clearance
Duties SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The primary purpose of this position is to inspect aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis.
* Determines test method, and prepares fluids and parts for nondestructive inspection.
* Performs nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems.
* Applies magnetic particle and/or liquid penetrant inspection to detect and interpret the relevancy of flaws in a variety of parts.
* Uses and maintains tools.
* Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
* Maintains records and documents actions.

* NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
* This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
* Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
* Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
* Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
* Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

* May be required to successfully complete a trial period.

Qualifications If your resume does not include a narrative description of how you meet the GENERAL, SPECIALIZED experiences, and OTHER requirements, you may lose consideration for this position. Ensure that the Questionnaire is completed on Application Manager. GENERAL Experience :
Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to set up and operate test equipment, use test apparatus to apply tests to material or products, record readings, observe and record established reactions, and classify according to defined categories. SPECIALIZED Experience :
Must have at least 18 months of experience or training in using ultrasonic and/or eddy current inspection techniques to observe, measure, and detect discontinuities and flaws. Experience classifying test results, identifying material deficiencies, and recommending courses of action for items of equipment. Experience recommending engine components to be inspected and forwarding results to the appropriate authority. Experience performing scheduled inspections of testing equipment ensuring compliance with established technical regulations and procedures.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Prolonged standing, frequent lifting of parts and materials weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance of lifting devices or other workers is required. Both hands and good eyesight required. Work requires stooping, bending, reaching, stretching, and climbing in, on, or through aircraft with equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works indoors and outdoors. May work in inclement weather on icy, wet, hot, and slippery ramps, work stands, ladders, and in temperature and humidity extremes. Subject to the dangers of toxic fumes, high pressure air and fluids, fast actuating aircraft surfaces such as speed brakes, flaps, and landing gear, engine noise, heat blast, and intake suction.
