Position to start on August 1, 2025. Renewal of appointment is dependent on satisfactory performance, program needs, availability of funds.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Provide technical support for a research project that deals with gene expression during papaya fruit ripening and it modification by ethylene inhibitors.

* Confirmation of conclusions using qPCR is expected.

* Analyze the data with minimal supervision, make recommendations to achieve project objectives, and prepare technical reports, manuscripts and presentations on the results.

Minimum Qualifications

* Enrollment in an advance degree program at UHM.

* Applicant should have a background in plant physiology, or plant biology. Familiarity with climacteric fruit ripening, bioinformatics especially gene transcription analysis and PCR is essential.
