We are seeking a recent PhD graduate for a fully funded, two-year position in Honolulu, HI to lead the development of a cutting-edge close-kin mark-recapture (CKMR) framework for assessing threatened green sea turtle populations in the Central North Pacific. In this highly collaborative role, the successful candidate will analyze complex genomic and demographic data to build robust population models, author scientific manuscripts, and present their findings.
The position also offers exciting opportunities to participate in fieldwork. Ideal applicants will have a PhD in quantitative ecology, statistics, or marine science, along with up to one year of experience using advanced statistical procedures to model wildlife population dynamics. Working knowledge of CKMR models and population abundance models is preferred. Applicants do not need experience with sea turtles, although experience with marine species is desired.
