Research Physiologist

About the Position:

This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Directorate of Education Training & Research (ET&R), Department of Clinical Investigation, located at Tripler Army Medical Center, HI.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience;

Degree:
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in one of the basic animal sciences or physiology; or a related discipline or field of science that included at least 24 semester hours in the basic animal sciences, of which 10 semester hours were in animal physiology.

Specialized

Experience:

I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves perform research investigation into cardiovascular, neuroendocrinology or renal therapeutic areas with emphasis on research on trauma and physiological monitoring, prolonged field care, clinical rehabilitative medicine, resuscitation strategies, tissue injury treatment and publish peers review manuscripts and compete for research grants and mentor junior scientists and post-doctoral students.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
