Customer Service Associate (HELE Sand Island | Part‑Time)

Hourly $17.15 – $21.15 + $3.00 shift differential eligibility

• Deliver prompt and courteous customer service, including assistance at the gas pump when required.
• Accurately process all sales on the POS system, adhering to cash handling procedures and payment policies.
• Maintain cash and receive other tender such as coupons.
• Follow company policies, store procedures, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Receive, stock, and organize merchandise; assist with inventory levels and shift audits.
• Participate in safety programs and required trainings, and attend job‑related meetings as needed.
• Perform cleaning duties to keep the site and equipment tidy; report equipment issues.
• Function as a positive team player and collaborate with colleagues for a constructive work environment.
• Work with minimal supervision and remain flexible for schedule changes, meetings, and other duties.

• Stand/walk for the duration of the shift.
• Maintain 20/40 vision (corrective lenses accepted) to read inventory, handle transactions, and operate gas pumps.
• Communicate information clearly and exchange accurate details.
• Follow safety procedures, including responding to alarms and contacting 911 if necessary.
• Frequently reach overhead, grip, move wrists, and use fingers for restocking, packaging, POS use, and general housekeeping.
• Squat and kneel regularly when restocking.
• Push/pull with arms up to 20 lbs, and lift 20 lbs or less from floor to waist; occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Climb a stepladder for stocking or equipment maintenance.

• 21 years of age or older with legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Retail sales and cash handling experience preferred.
• Basic math skills for accurate transactions.
• Proficient verbal and written English, including telephone communication.
• Reliability to work various shifts, arrive on time, and use equipment/tools as required.

Part‑time employees working ≥ 20 hrs/week qualify for our Employee Assistance Program, a 401(k) plan, and the ability to purchase company stock at discounted prices. They also receive 29 hours of vacation after the first year, with additional vacation accruing bi‑weekly based on tenure.
