Customer Service Associate (HELE Salt Lake | Part-Time)

Salary: $17.15 - $21.15 per hour (includes $3.00 shift differential eligibility)

• Consistently provide prompt and courteous customer service; may assist customers at the gas pump.
• Accurately ring up all sales on the POS system, comply with all cash handling procedures for all payment types.
• Responsible for all cash and other tender forms (e.g., coupons, credit card transactions).
• Comply with company policies and store procedures, including safety and environmental policies.
• Responsible for receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise.
• Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and complete shift audits.
• Participate in all safety programs and trainings; attend mandatory job‑related meetings and trainings as needed.
• Perform cleaning duties to maintain site cleanliness inside and out, and basic upkeep/cleaning of all equipment.
• Identify equipment problems and report as needed.
• Perform all duties with minimal supervision; may work flexible hours, attend job‑related meetings, and other duties as assigned.

• Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
• Ability to see with 20/40 vision (corrective lenses acceptable) to see numbers on inventory, items purchased, gas pumps, and problems that may occur with gas pumps.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to follow safety procedures (e.g., respond to safety alarms, contact 911 for emergencies).
• Frequent reaching overhead, gripping, wrist movements, and finger dexterity required to restock inventory, package items sold, operate the POS system, receive payments, issue change, operate gas pumps, wipe pumps, maintain store grounds, and general housekeeping.
• Frequent squatting and kneeling required for obtaining and/or replenishing items.
• Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (using a hand‑truck).
• Frequent lifting of 20 pounds or less from floor to waist, overhead, and carry a short distance.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb a stepladder to stock or retrieve materials and/or place or remove signs.

• Minimum age 21 years or older.
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without requiring visa transfer or sponsorship.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in retail sales and handling cash preferred.
• Perform basic math accurately.
• Ability to communicate in English (oral and written), including proficient telephone communication skills.
• Ability to work various shifts as scheduled and arrive on time.
• Ability to work with equipment, tools, and materials as required.
• Ability to perform essential duties and work in the conditions described.
