Overview
Your Impact at Lowe's As a Customer Service Associate, you combine top-notch customer service skills with genuine care for people to help customers feel comfortable while shopping at Lowe's. This is an excellent role for those who want to engage with customers and help them solve their home improvement challenges.
Your Day at Lowe's As a Customer Service Associate, you will welcome customers to Lowe's and help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs. You will interact with customers throughout the day, help them find and select products, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met. While you will spend most of your time listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, your daily responsibilities may vary by department.
Customer Service Associates work in one of the following departments, based on hiring needs and skillsets:
Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.
- Welcome customers to Lowe's, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Stock merchandise by identifying empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.
- Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- 6 Months Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- 6 Months Experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
- Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without an accommodation.
- 6 months of Retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bi-lingual skills.
- Certification in trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials).

Travel is not required regularly, but occasional travel to meetings, trainings, or to support neighboring stores may be necessary. Working conditions vary by location and may include inside or outside environments with exposure to varying climates and noises. Lifting guidelines include limits up to 75 pounds for single lifts, with team lifts as needed.
