Job Summary

As a Supervisory Sales Associate you will be the face of our company to both the associates and our customers. You will highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will be directly responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services.

You will also be a team leader to the associates ensuring the work environment is positive and productive. Through a continuous learning environment you will stay current on products we sell and be able to articulate our purpose in a manner that is educational, insightful, and professional. Have a positive and outgoing nature that enjoys serving others and making a positive impact to the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
  • Ask questions and listen to customer needs.
  • Direct customers to merchandise, informing them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, STAR card.
  • Provide premier customer service.
  • Cooperate and build positive inclusive and respectful relationships; take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
  • Maintain store appearance.
  • Cross‑sell products and know the layout of the store.
  • Make suggestions to customers on latest trends and current promotions based on individual needs.
  • Upsell products.
  • Learn product features, keep up with the latest trends, leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide the customer with product knowledge specs.
  • Use a Point‑of‑Sales system to process cash, exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards, cash handling including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customers.
  • Complete various forms of paperwork, reports and reconciliation.
  • Be the keeper of merchandise; complete all inventory processes and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
  • Participate in periodic inventories.
  • Be responsible for the security of cash, fixed assets and merchandise inventory.
  • Provide direction on assignments, including prioritizing projects, tasks, managing merchandise and inventory.
  • Adhere to assigned work schedule.
  • Accurately and completely follow through on work assignments.
  • Provide effective leadership; direct, train and motivate associates; set a positive example.
  • Provide coaching and feedback timely and professionally.
  • Provide direction on work assignments, training to sales associates and input to Department Manager on associate performance.
  • May open and close locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Moderate level of knowledge of product merchandise.
  • Provide training documentation to sales associates on product features.
  • Experience:

    1–2 years of retail or relevant work experience required; 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers and management.
  • Ability to communicate on the telephone with proper etiquette.
  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to use a calculator and calculate percentages and ratios; make change in American monetary units.
  • Ability to multi‑task while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently of direct supervision.
  • Ability to defuse escalated exchanges and create win‑win situations.
  • Experience:

    1 year of responsible experience in clerical office or retail sales store work; 1 year progressively responsible experience in retail sales performing duties…
