Job Summary

As a Supervisory Sales Associate you will be the face of our company to both the associates and our customers. You will highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will assist customers and help them recognize the need for our products and services. You will also act as a team leader, ensuring the work environment is positive and productive.

Through continuous learning you will stay current on the products we sell and articulate our purpose in a professional manner. You should have a positive and outgoing nature and enjoy serving others to make a positive impact on the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Proactively engage and make a connection with customers. Ask questions and listen to customers' needs. Direct customers to merchandise, informing them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card. Provide premier customer service. Cooperate and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships, taking accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
  • Organization: Maintain store appearance. Ensure record–keeping and cleanliness are consistently upheld.
  • Sales: Cross‑sell products and understand store layout. Make suggestions to customers about latest trends and current promotions based on individual needs. Upsell products. Learn product features, keep up with trends, and leverage company tools and technology to provide confident product knowledge.
  • Point‑of‑Sale Operations: Process cash, exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards, and cash handling. Count money accurately and return correct amounts to customers.
  • Inventory: Serve as the keeper of merchandise; complete all inventory processes, ensure proper check‑in, and accurate ticketing. Participate in periodic inventories. Secure cash, fixed assets, and merchandise inventory. Provide direction on assignments, prioritize projects, and manage merchandise and inventory.
  • Dependability: Adhere to assigned work schedule. Follow through on work assignments accurately and completely.
  • Supervisory Requirements: Provide effective leadership by directing, training, and motivating associates. Set a positive example. Provide timely coaching and feedback. Assign work, train sales associates, and give input to the Department Manager on associate performance. May open and close locations.
  • Other Duties: Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Product Knowledge:
    Moderate level of knowledge of products and merchandise.
  • Training:
    Provide documentation to sales associates on product features.
  • Experience:

    1–2 years of retail or relevant work experience required; 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents; effective telephone etiquette.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to use a calculator, calculate percentages and ratios, and make change in American monetary units.
  • Reasoning Ability:
    Ability to multi‑task, remain attentive to customers, and stay flexible to business needs. Work independently as part of a team, take initiative, and de‑escalate exchanges to create win‑win situations.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs in some departments. Work typically performed indoors, but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.
