Job Summary
As a Cashier you will be the face of our company. You highlight our brand and image, helping customers recognize the need for our products and services. You must be able to learn about what we sell and articulate our purpose professionally. A positive, outgoing nature that enjoys serving others and making a positive impact is required.
Responsibilities- Proactively engage and build connections with customers.
- Ask questions and listen to customer needs.
- Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR cards.
- Provide premier customer service, building inclusive and respectful relationships.
- Maintain the appearance of the check‑out area, restock bags, packaging materials, and labels.
- Ensure customers find everything they need and make suggestions on current trends and promotions.
- Process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit and debit cards using a Point‑of‑Sale system; count money and return accurate change.
- Maintain change funds and accounts for sales receipts.
- Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.
- Manage inventory: check in merchandise, ticket accurately, and participate in periodic inventories.
- Adhere to assigned work schedule and follow through on assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of Point‑of‑Sale systems and retail experience (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules and operating manuals.
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, use of calculator, creating percentages, and making change in American currency.
- Reasoning ability: multi‑task while remaining attentive to customers and flexible to business needs.
- Teamwork and independence: work within a team and take initiative without direct supervision.
- Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Vision: close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Lifting: at least 25 lb, up to 50 lb in some departments.
- Enthusiastic, friendly, energetic, with a desire to provide outstanding service.
Available to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
