The Sushi Specialist is responsible for providing Customers with outstanding service through friendly, quick, efficient, accurate and safe assistance in the Sushi Department.

Essential Functions- Assist the Manager in meeting the sales and profit projections of the store through the making of sushi and following company policies and procedures.
- Work various shifts or days as assigned based on Company business needs.
- Experience cutting fresh fish and seafood for sushi/sashimi applications.
- Ensure sushi is prepared, handled, stocked, rotated and merchandised for best results.
- Safely operate department equipment including knife, appliances, wrapper, sushi equipment.
- Maintain a knife grip to cut fish or other seafood to specification.
- Endure long periods in a working environment of 40°F or more.
- Meet productivity standards as set by the company.
- Use in‑store computer system and scanning equipment.
- Weigh, price, label, organize and rotate sushi products per company standards.
- Assist customers with special requests and questions regarding the sushi department.
- Support any promotional activity within the store and department.
- Maintain good communication with store management, associates and outside contacts.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Manager.
- Position is non‑exempt. Must work based on business needs. Schedule may change due to vacation, sick calls, inventory, special events, etc.

The following knowledge, skill, and/or ability are representative of those required for this position.
Education/Experience- High School diploma or GED required.
- 2 to 4 years of work experience in a grocery chain or retail establishment preferred.
- Experience in a similar work environment with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Prior experience in retail or restaurant environment preferred.
- Strong prioritization and accountability.
