Primary PurposeOversee the daily operations of a retail store, ensuring profitability, staffing, expense control, inventory management and shortage control.
Responsibilities Daily Duties- Assist customers and manage their needs.
- Process the store’s daily paperwork.
- Maintain proper security and safety standards, including cash handling and banking.
- Conduct inventory checks and place appropriate orders.
- Receive and process new merchandise promptly.
- Stock and merchandise inventory as required.
- Survey premises to ensure appearance, security and safety standards.
- Ensure proper staff coverage.
- Train and coach staff.
- Conduct daily competitor fuel price surveys and communicate results to Corporate.
- Schedule staff weekly to ensure adequate coverage.
- Submit payroll on a bi‑weekly schedule.
- Attend quarterly manager’s meetings.
- Conduct monthly store meetings.
- Complete price changes as required.
- Cover shifts as needed.
- Complete employee evaluations and submit to the Area Supervisor.
- Consult supervisor on employee matters.
- Discipline employees and complete written documentation as required.
- Assist other stores and perform other assigned duties.
- Mathematical ability for cash handling and daily paperwork.
- Ability to supervise, counsel, motivate and train staff.
- Strong prioritization and coordination skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient inventory control.
- Effective problem‑solving ability.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of Sales Associates Training Class.
- Attend seminars as assigned.
- On‑the‑job computer training.
- 2–5 years in a managerial capacity.
- 2–5 years in cash handling.
- 2–5 years in supervisory skills.
- Indoor store environment.
- Outdoor work as needed in regular weather.
- Daily use of computer, calculator, cashiering equipment, safes, filing cabinets and various food and beverage equipment.
- Regular hookup of CO₂ soda fountain air pressure dispenser tank and BIBS Bag‑In‑A‑Box syrup dispensers.
- Sunday–Saturday availability required.
- Schedule of at least 5 days and 40 hours per week; additional hours may be required.
- Extended hours and on‑call shifts (day, night, swing, or graveyard) as necessary.
- 24‑hour on‑call duty for emergencies.
- Continuous attention to detail, concentration and alertness.
- Frequent use of mathematical skills.
- Good judgment and decision making under minimal lead time to keep operations smooth.
- Analysis of financial reports to improve performance.
- Continuous cashiering, computer use, and use of corrective vision.
- Frequent standing, reaching and handling.
- Occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Seldom climbing, balancing, or running.
- Talk to co‑workers, supervisors, customers and vendors regularly.
- Use telephone and written communication for instructions and reports.
- Lead hiring process at store location.
- Coaching and progressive counseling of employees.
The Store Manager reports directly to the Area Supervisor and works under the general supervision of the General Manager of Company Operated Stores.
