Location: East Honolulu

Waialae Country Club is a private membership club, which provides its members with a championship golf course, dining services, health/recreational facilities and host of the PGA's Sony Championship Hawaii. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides exceptional service, creates a positive shopping experience for members, and maintains a neat and orderly appearance in the golf shop.
  • Supervises golf shop merchandisers to ensure a positive and cohesive work environment.
  • Assists members with merchandise selections and assists at the sales counter as necessary.
  • Develops annual and seasonal budgets and open-to-buy programs.
  • Orders and maintains seasonal fashion buys for all categories.
  • Orders and maintains essential year-round products in accordance with pre-established Par Levels.
  • Places prebook orders, maximizing vendor purchasing programs and discounts.
  • Responsible for placing special orders on behalf of members.
  • Assists with pricing, receiving, unpacking, tagging, storing and displaying golf shop merchandise.
  • Organizes items in the storeroom; and ensures the storeroom is neat and free of safety hazards.
  • Maintains product documentation from purchase to sale; including purchase orders, receiving records, invoice validation/payment, inventory records and special-order records to document merchandise history.
  • Manages inventory control including ordering procedures, receiving procedures, inputting into point-of-sale system, pricing procedures, inventory count and stocking and coding invoices in a timely manner.
  • Generates merchandising reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as appropriate and utilizes these reports to manage inventory, displays, rotations and all merchandise processes.
  • Trains staff and ensures all golf shop merchandise staff follow club service standards to meet and exceed member expectations.
  • Maintains standard operating procedures to aid in the consistent delivery of member service.
  • Coordinates with the Head Golf Professional with planning and executing merchandise events; trunk shows, sales, and demo days.
  • Assists the Head Golf Professional with coordinating, purchasing, and selling retail items for the Sony Championship Hawaii golf tournament.
  • Assists the Head Golf Professional with selecting and purchasing products for tournaments.
  • Assists Department Heads with ordering uniforms for all departments.
  • Stays current with trends and new merchandise, attending local, regional and national retail shows, as appropriate.
  • Maintains the Waialae Country Club's place in the Top 100 Golf Shops as recognized by the Association of Golf Merchandisers.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned from time to time by the Head Golf Professional.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED; and 2-3 years of related work experience, including inventory management experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Prior retail experience at a golf course preferred.
  • Proficient experience utilizing Windows software:
    Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience utilizing a POS System.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to adjust to abrupt changes in priorities and function well in in a team environment as well as work independently.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Starting Pay Rate: $33-$37/hour depending on experience.
