Job Summary / Description

Hawaii News Now is looking to grow its already commanding share of the local broadcast and digital revenue market. To do so, we are seeking a high‑level consultant who is self‑motivated to exceed expectations, possesses strong consultancy skills, and has an entrepreneurial spirit. This role holds no limits to growth or success.

The account executive is a sales role responsible for identifying, qualifying, and acquiring new prospects and connecting them with our innovative marketing solutions to help them grow their business. This is a role focused on acquiring high‑quality clients with significant short‑ and long‑term revenue potential.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Research opportunities in the market, generate and follow through on sales leads—both warm and cold—and manage an active revenue pipeline.
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospect to close and meet new business revenue and budget goals.
  • Act as a marketing expert, providing insights, recommendations, and consultancy to build productive, long‑lasting relationships.
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline, build velocity, and forecast accurately monthly.
  • Design, write, and present marketing presentations.
  • Meet or exceed sales expectations, goals, and budgets, and manage personal book of sales revenue for retention and growth.
  • Manage personal book of business using multiple CRM and client‑management tools.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively internally across all Hawaii News Now departments and support staff.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • 2–5 years of B2C or B2B outside consultative sales experience (media ad‑sales experience preferred).
  • Effective prospecting and proven revenue pipeline‑building skills.
  • Ability to think critically and design solutions for complex problems.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and unexpected change successfully.
  • Teachable and open to best practices and feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Consistent delivery of results through perseverance, humility, and a positive outlook in challenging situations.
  • Comfortable selling to, challenging, and building trust‑based, value‑added relationships with executives, including C‑level officers and VPs.
