Job Summary
Insurance Sales Agent – entry‑level position designed to lead to Sales Agent (5483). The Sales Agent Trainee will complete training and be reclassified as a Sales Agent. The role works exclusively in a Branch Office and includes sales activities, appointments, inspections, and client service focused on Club membership and insurance products.
Responsibilities- Sell insurance products using established sales standards.
- Quote rates, qualify applicants, inspect vehicles or property, and complete documentation in accordance with underwriting criteria and quality standards.
- Sell Club memberships, promote Club services and products, and provide information on membership and insurance products.
- Develop a successful sales strategy.
- Create and utilize sales leads and contacts from multiple sources.
- Manage time and organize information to achieve goals.
- Take advantage of sales opportunities and maintain high expertise regarding Club products and services.
- Communicate effectively with clients and co‑workers.
- Enhance closing skills and identify cross‑sell opportunities based on members’ product needs and service requests.
- Provide sales leads to life insurance, in‑house agency insurance, travel and other departments as appropriate.
- Ensure proper ratings are applied to new policies according to underwriting guidelines.
- Provide insurance policy service to Club members in person, by telephone or written correspondence.
- Complete and amend insurance and membership forms to update existing policies and/or membership records.
- Compile and submit documentation for all transactions.
- Collect membership and insurance payments and maintain security in handling Club monies and receipts.
- Attend meetings, training workshops and seminars.
- Complete and approve accurate timecards, expense diaries and other required documentation.
- Adhere to scheduled duties and activities as directed by management.
- Maintain current knowledge of membership services, insurance underwriting, coverage provisions, billing statements, payment options, cancellations and processing.
- Bachelor’s equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1–3 years of relevant outside sales experience (Preferred).
- 1–3 years of prior sales experience (Required).
- 1–3 years of customer service experience (Preferred).
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills (High proficiency).
- Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint) (High proficiency).
- Previously demonstrated advanced level of competitive and persistent nature (High proficiency).
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks and assignments (High proficiency).
- Moderate knowledge of Salesforce (Preferred).
- Property and Casualty Insurance License valid in selling state.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable DMV record and minimum liability insurance.
- Life Insurance License valid in selling state.
- Occasional travel to off‑site business meetings or conferences (5%).
