Account Manager

The Account Manager uncovers new business and develops new customer relationships while building trust and fostering existing customer relationships.

• Prospect, develop, and grow customer base.
• Close deals, negotiate rates, and book loads.
• Develop and foster strong customer relationships and customer growth.
• Work with all departments to ensure superior customer service of assigned shipments and/or accounts.
• Effectively communicate with customers.
• Handle high volume, outbound calls.
• Analyze data, solve problems, and actively seek opportunities to improve customers’ supply chains.
• Deliver cost‑effective solutions that keep the customer’s long‑term interests as the first priority.
• Ensure performance to the office annual goals and objectives through individual goal success.
• Occasional travel.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• 2 years of experience in the transportation/logistics industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Experience with McLeod software and a consistent record of accurately rating and pricing truckload shipments.
• Existing and portable book of customers.
• Strong organization and time‑management skills.
• Basic PC skills:
  Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Self‑starter capable of working independently and making decisions with limited supervision.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Communication with customers, carriers, and drivers after hours may be required.
• Positive attitude with high energy.
