As an Airport Law Enforcement Officer – Armed Patrol in Honolulu, HI, you will safeguard the airport, staff, and its facilities. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication to all visitors and staff. Pay Rate

$28.86 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.

Job Schedule

Saturday: 03:00 PM - 11:30 PM;
Sunday: 03:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Law Enforcement Officer License
  • 22+ years of age
Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required
  • Certified State law enforcement recruit training.
  • Certified County law enforcement recruit training.
  • Federal law enforcement training.
  • Programs approved by the Director.
  • Each LEO will possess the following minimum qualifications:
    • No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings.
Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Must be able to supervise Contractor’s personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on the performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees.
Other Attributes that Enhance Hiring Consideration
  • Shall have no record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders which may interfere with performance of duties.
Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
  • Exercise sound judgment and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions.
  • Maintain maturity in conduct, behavior, and attitude.
  • Take orders, follow instructions, accept and assume responsibility for one’s actions.
  • Remain alert, attentive, and conduct professional conduct. Recognize and respond to situations appropriately.
  • Possess strong moral character, high standards, and truthfulness.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
  • Demonstrate courtesy in interpersonal relationships with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement and security personnel.
  • May be required to attend court appearances for citations issued on behalf of DOTA; replacement staffing will be provided by the contractor for required court proceedings.
Physical Requirements and Environment
  • Mental and emotional capability to perform all duties required for assigned post/duties.
  • In good physical health and fully capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing, walking, patrolling for an entire shift, climbing stairs, running and self‑defense.
  • Perform essential physical tasks including:
    • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. for a designated distance.
    • Assisting in the safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or providing support to persons with limited mobility.
