Job DescriptionAs an Airport Law Enforcement Officer – Armed Patrol in Honolulu, HI, you will safeguard the airport, staff, and its facilities. You will drive, patrol, check, and secure doors, conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication to all visitors and staff. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a secure environment while working as part of a dedicated team that values agility, reliability, and integrity.

Pay Rate$28.86 per hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58. Premium paid will be based on the position actually worked.

- 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level).
- Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Law Enforcement Officer license.
- 22+ years of age.
- Applicant must complete one of the following approved programs:
1. Certified State law enforcement recruit training.
2. Certified County law enforcement recruit training.
3. Federal law enforcement training.
4. Programs approved by the Director. - No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions.
- Must be able to supervise contractor personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies, and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints, and the performance, conduct, or behavior of subordinate employees.
- Shall have no record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders which may interfere with performance of duties.
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Exercise sound judgment and render immediate appropriate decisions under stressful conditions.
- Mature conduct, behavior, and attitude.
- Take orders, follow instructions, accept and assume responsibility for one’s actions.
- Alertness, attentiveness, and professional conduct. Recognize, respond, and take appropriate corrective actions to various situations.
- Strong moral character with high standards and truthfulness.

- Courtesy in interpersonal relationships with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement, and security personnel.
- May be required to provide a court appearance for citations issued on behalf of DOTA. Contractor shall provide replacement staffing for LEOs required to attend a court proceeding.
- Mental and emotional capacity to perform all duties required for assigned post/duties.
- Good physical health, capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing, walking, patrolling for an entire shift, climbing stairs, running, and self‑defense.
