Position: PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will monitor physical security requirements (i.e. locking devices, alarms, access controls, identification of personnel and vehicles, security force performance, security controls for various designated security areas, security hardware, etc).
* You will coordinate the repair and correction of any facility and personnel deficiencies noted.
* You will review, analyze and sign off on construction plans to ensure adequate security principles and methodologies are designed into these projects to protect persons, property and equipment.
* You will develop Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and IMF Physical Security Plan, establishing effective monitoring processes to ensure compliance with policy regulations.
* You will operate with independence to author, review and coordinate revisions to documents and instructions relating to Security Operations and Physical Security for conformance with higher directives, thus supporting the NAVSHIPYDPEARL mission.
* You will be the direct liaison with the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) Major of Operations, coordinating security operations programs relative to the JBPHH security forces which protect Shipyard assets.
* You will participate in critiques and debriefs for security related incidents. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* You may be required to lift/carry items up to 30 pounds in weight. Qualifications GS-12:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing physical security policies, procedures, and practices to determine if the correct physical security requirements are in place, such as locking devices, alarms, access controls, etc.,

identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend solutions, provide input on a physical security plan, and participate in a Command physical security assessment in an ongoing effort to ensure the protection of personnel, property and equipment.
