Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified individual with industry experience. Reporting directly to the Chief Building Engineer or the Account Manager–Engineering, the Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs of facility equipment, property structures and grounds. Candidates must pass a background check, possess a valid Hawaii driver’s license and reliable vehicle, and have previous hands‑on maintenance experience.

Honolulu, HI 96816 (Kaimuki – Oahu) - Benefits:

- Perform preventative general maintenance inspections and repairs: painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical (light replacement/ballast, driver replacement), mechanical and HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), chiller readings, AC installation (window units), and grounds maintenance.
- Ensure mechanical equipment and systems operate correctly and address issues as needed.
- Create and maintain work orders and purchase orders.
- Interact with property managers, vendors, and customers to deliver excellent customer service.
- Lift, push, pull and carry weights ranging from 50 lbs to 75 lbs, and perform other manual labor tasks such as bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting, and climbing ladders.
- Work safely in warm or hot conditions, utilizing stairs and ladders as required.
- Execute any additional duties assigned by Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) supervisor or property management.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Hawaii driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Basic hand tools and general preventative maintenance experience in commercial plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and drywall.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Strong communication skills, public relations, customer‑service orientation, and organizational skills.
- Capability to work a flexible schedule and to be available after hours, weekends, and holidays when needed.
- Willingness to learn and to improve skills.
- Monday to Friday: 6:30 am – 3:00 pm.
- Open availability after hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Compensation: $25.00 per hour.
