Responsibilities
This position independently inspects all phases of public works construction and major maintenance projects, ensuring conformance with plans, specifications, contracts, regulations, and standard methods of work.
Qualifications- Basic education: graduation from high school or equivalent, or work experience demonstrating the ability to read and apply oral and written instructions, write simply and directly, and perform arithmetic computations.
- General experience: two (2) years of journey-level experience in one or more construction trades.
- Specialized experience (one year): either (A) construction inspection work OR (B) full‑time supervisory work over skilled trades workers, including responsibility for interpreting plans and specifications and inspecting workmanship and materials.
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) clearance required if applicable. Applicants must undergo a pre‑employment fingerprint‑based criminal history record check; the cost is at the applicant’s expense and will be reimbursed upon hire.
- Valid driver’s license at the time of application.
