Department of Transportation, multiple urgent vacancies located in the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

Applicants must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Independently perform a variety of skilled electrical work in the repair, maintenance and installation of electrical systems and equipment as a regular and continuing assignment; may supervise one or more helpers assisting in the work; and perform other related duties as assigned.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States: citizens, nationals, or permanent residents; or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
• Valid State of Hawaii Journey Worker Electrician License, Journey Worker Industrial Electrician License, Supervising Electrician License, or Supervising Industrial Electrician License required at time of application. (Hawaii does not have reciprocity agreements with other jurisdictions.)
• Information about obtaining a State of Hawaii Electrician License is available with the State Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs.
• Driver's license may be required for some positions.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B may be required for some positions; no restrictions relating to code L (air brakes) within 6 months from date of hire. Valid out-of-state CDL may also be accepted but must be transferred to a Hawaii‑issued CDL within 30 days of arriving in Hawaii.

Some positions may require lifting and carrying objects of varying weights without assistance—or with assistance of another person and/or use of equipment (e.g., hoisting equipment, hand truck) for heavier loads, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Persons considered for employment in positions requiring unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre‑employment fingerprint‑based criminal history record check. To be granted Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted or found “not guilty by reason of insanity” of a disqualifying criminal offense within 10 years from the date of application.
