Position: Plumber Journeyman (Honolulu, HI)

Position Title:
Plumber, Journeyman

Reports To:
Superintendent, Plumbing

Position Summary

Various duties to install and maintain integrity of plumbing and pipe systems.

  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude and conduct her/himself with integrity and in a polite, professional manner treating customers and co-workers courteously and respectfully.
  • Communicates regularly with managers & supervisors about the department’s issues.
  • Consistently be on time for work, meetings and appointments and deliver work projects by assigned due dates.
  • Maintain assigned work areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Maintain and ensure the safety of all assigned equipment.
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Meet productivity goals and quality standards as set by management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Layout, fabricate and assemble water, sewer, solar and other piping systems.
  • Design, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair toilets, bath tubs, sinks, and water heaters.
  • Interpret plans and specifications.
  • Use all tools of the trade to cut, connect, and install piping and equipment.
  • Understand the public health safety in regards to the preservation of food and indoor air qualities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Hawaii Driver’s License.
  • Basic electrical knowledge for various control systems.
  • Basic knowledge for handling fluids and gases under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Must be flexible in work hours, on call as needed.
  • Ability to effectively operate office equipment, to include desktop computers, calculators, printers, copy machines and telephones.
  • Verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Good attitude; must be a team player.
Education/Training
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of 10,000+ hours of work experience in plumbing trade through Local 675’s Apprenticeship Program.
  • 10 semesters of related and hands‑on instructions (5 years).
  • Must be able to understand physics of liquids, gases, refrigerants, electricity and electrical controls.
  • 5+ years of work experience in the plumbing field.

This is a full time position
