Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Auto Body Technician is to provide an exceptional customer experience by meticulously assessing, repairing, and restoring each vehicle to its pre-accident condition. The technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles while adhering to company KPIs and acting as a brand ambassador for The Boyd Group.
Key Job Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
- Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, and hammers to repair vehicle sections.
- Reduce dents and minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when necessary.
- Realign vehicle chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts, including glass and windshields.
- Repair interior parts as needed.
- Weld or attach parts and prepare vehicles for paint, using factory‑specified or agreed paint.
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
- Read job orders and work independently.
- Collaborate with other repairers in an auto body shop.
- Understand methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
- Know how to use trade tools effectively.
- Work safely in a noisy area with odors present.
- Lifting up to 30 pounds when required.
- Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat for repairs and inspections.

Flat Rate: $25 – $36 per hour. Compensation is performance‑based and tied to turned hours. If total compensation in a pay period is below local or state minimum wage, hours are calculated at the higher wage. Compensation is commensurate with skill, education, and experience.
