Summary
You will serve as an ELECTRICIAN SUPERVISOR I in the ELECTRICAL SHOP, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of the Department of the Navy.
OverviewOpen from 10/14/2025 to 10/13/2026. Salary: $48.49 to $56.56 per hour (pay scale WS‑10).
Location:
Pearl Harbor Naval Base, Oahu, HI. Full‑time, multiple appointment types, no telework.
- Coordinate availability of special tools, materials, equipment and assist‑trade help with shop planners; plan task sequences, layouts, worker assignments and special work methods.
- Resolve work problems, eliminate bottlenecks, equipment breakdowns, material shortages and other delays, requesting permission or assistance from higher levels as needed.
- Preview jobs at the worksite and prepare detailed schedules and work instructions.
- Assign tasks, tools, equipment and materials to workers; lay out work for the group and interpret plans and instructions.
- Instruct workers on proper methods, use and care of equipment, and safe work practices.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Pass federal employment suitability and E‑Verify for new DHS employees.
- Direct‑deposit pay program participation.
- Security clearance (interim or final) required before duty.
- Pre‑appointment physical examination may be required.
- Drug testing may be required; failure to comply may lead to rescission.
- Use of personal protective equipment (helmets, gloves, coveralls, goggles, respirators, safety shoes) required.
- Work in environments with harmful physical and chemical agents; participation in medical surveillance programs required.
- Occasional travel within and outside the U.S.; ability to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods may be required.
- Compliance with ethical conduct principles for executive branch supervisors.
- Exposure to high noise levels and potential for overtime or unusual duty hours.
The primary qualification is the ability to lead or supervise. Other qualifications are evaluated on job‑specific skills and experience.

- Ability to use and maintain hand tools (electrical).
- Knowledge of electrical equipment.
- Understanding of theory and instruments (electrical, electronic) used in shop and trade practices.
- Electrical troubleshooting skills.
The position is subject to a government‑wide hiring freeze. The salary is based on geographic location and may change with annual wage surveys. This role is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
