Main Responsibilities
  • Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
  • Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
  • Doing preventative maintenance repairs—like replacing or rotating tires— and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
  • Partnering with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching
  • Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and 1‑2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to solve problems and be comfortable using tools
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
  • Basic computer skills
  • Understanding and compliance with Penske’s instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, and policies
  • Adherence to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies, including proper tools, PPE, and guardrails
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance required
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and maintaining a current driver qualification file; CDL holders subject to DOT drug screening and FMCSA review
  • Willingness to work the required schedule, complete background screening, drug screen, physical, and accept travel for training within a near geography
Physical Requirements
  • Move, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods while performing job duties
  • Use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and operate required tools and controls
  • Work safely at heights using ladders and platforms
  • Work in all weather conditions
  • Navigate work environment with frequent movement of large trucks; requires adequate vision and hearing
  • Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs; push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbs
Pay

$26.50/hr - $28.05/hr

Shift Differentials
  • 2nd Shift: $3.00
  • 3rd Shift: $4.00
  • Weekends: $3.00
