Job Description
This position is a maintenance role for the American Red Cross facilities. The incumbent performs repair and maintenance tasks on plant, office, and equipment facilities.
Reporting to the Honolulu chapter office, the position will require regional travel of approximately 10% and does not qualify for relocation assistance.
SalarySalary range for this position (HI): $22.26/hr – $23.70/hr.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair organization's facilities and properties, including routine tasks such as patching holes, repairing concrete, painting structures, and correcting minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and structural problems.
- Document installation and repairs as required by regulatory agencies.
- Install, operate, and service mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, motors, fans, and pumps.
- Move and store furniture and equipment as needed.
- Estimate time and material costs of various projects and requisition new supplies and equipment.
- Maintain landscaping including flowerbeds, shrub pruning, lawn watering, and snow removal.
- Operate vehicle to travel to other locations.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. May require a trade license.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
- Previous truck and/or bus driving experience desirable.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to work on a team and handle on-call duties.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Experience building vendor relationships.
- Intermediate computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a highly matrixed environment.
Regular use of hands, fingers, and arms; lift and move objects 10–50 lbs frequently, and up to 100 lbs with assistance. Ability to push carts up to 250 lbs, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally sit and climb. Requires good vision including close and distance vision, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
