The position is for a fully competent painter who performs skilled painting tasks on interior and exterior surfaces, supervises helpers when required, and carries out related duties.
Responsibilities- Apply coats of paint or other protective and decorative coatings by brush, roller, spray gun, and other methods to buildings, structures, equipment, and furniture.
- Prepare surfaces, mix and match paints, and conduct freehand lettering and stencilling as needed.
- Work from rigging and scaffolds when required.
- Estimate time and materials needed to complete jobs.
- Follow safety procedures and properly handle hazardous materials.
- Perform heavy lifting, moving, and other manual tasks typical of the class.
- Supervise one or more Painter Helpers or other assistance personnel when assigned.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.
- Legal authorization to work: must be a citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or otherwise eligible under federal law to work in the United States.
- Four (4) years of work experience in preparing surfaces and applying paint or coatings, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Knowledge of painting trade practices, safety procedures, tools, equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Ability to use brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other painting tools; prepare stencils; perform freehand lettering; work from rigging and scaffolds; mix and match paints; recognize hazards; estimate time and materials; follow oral and written instructions.
- Valid driver's license.
- Physical requirement: ability to lift and carry objects of various weights with or without reasonable accommodation (immediate vacancy requirement).
