WEIGHT Handling Equipment; WHE Inspector Security Clearance

Position: WEIGHT HANDLING EQUIPMENT (WHE) INSPECTOR with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will inspect and troubleshoot electrical power distribution and electronic digital information components during removal, repair, alteration, overhaul, installation and alignment.
* You will be required to participate on project teams (without direct supervision) and assume increased responsibilities relating to developing project work packages, planning and scheduling of work, and leading inspection related tasks.
* You will provide assistance during Regional Navy Crane Center (NCC) audits and issue specific support requests/investigative reports, etc., per governing requirements.
* You will perform Load Test Director functions for Category 3 WHE or No-Load for Category 2 WHE by directing the inspection and operational actions of a team for final testing and certification.
* You will perform inspection and test functions on mechanical, structural, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and electrical/mechanical and components and systems.

* You will ensure that needed plans, blueprints, material, tools and test equipment are available.
* You will review and correctly interpret engineering drawings and specifications, manufacturer's literature and maintenance procedures. Requirements Conditions of employment

* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
* This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to climb ladders.
* This position requires that the selectee have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination.
* This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to work in small and/or confined spaces.
