Applicants must be U.S. citizens, subject to a government security investigation, and have the ability to obtain and maintain Top‑Secret/SCI clearance.
License/Certification Requirement- Journeyman electric license highly preferred.
- Completion of an HVAC technical training program, vocational or technical school, or recognized apprenticeship program preferred.
- Ensure all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life‑safety equipment operates at peak efficiency through planned preventive maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency response.
- Serve as the singular focal point for all facility operations and support.
- Maintain > 99.999 % uptime for mission‑critical server‑supporting equipment.
- Assist in administration and regulation of junior technicians and oversee contractors’ electrical duties.
- Analyze system requirements, conduct research, and recommend modifications to new and existing systems.
- Install new units or replacement parts according to specifications, MOPs, manufacturer literature, and industry best practices.
- Apply safe working practices, lockout/tagout, MSDS compliance, and good housekeeping methods.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctioning electronics, PCBs, sensing mechanisms, and advanced electrical circuits.
- Perform maintenance, installations, and repairs on critical data‑center systems and industrial electrical equipment, using appropriate test equipment for diagnostics; log activities in CMMS.
- Conduct daily walk‑throughs documenting power availability, temperature, humidity, alarm status, and other parameters for trend analysis.
- Manage mechanical and electrical systems during emergencies, including HVAC, power distribution, generators, load transfer, UPS, DC power, and fire/life safety systems.
- Identify required materials and parts, prepare and present cost estimates for procurement.
- Maintain relationships with major vendor accounts.
- Schedule, coordinate, and oversee critical environment vendors during maintenance, emergency, and break/fix events to ensure safety and continued power.
- Operate electrical data‑capturing devices (e.g., Dranetz, Fluke PQA).
- Create and review MOPs and SOPs, ensuring they reflect up‑to‑date techniques and safety guidelines.
- Generate internal and vendor field‑service reports and review them before submission.
- Develop reliability reports to identify areas for increased efficiency, resiliency, or reduced unplanned downtime.
- Conduct training for junior technicians and staff on electrical equipment and system maintenance, repair, and operation.
- High school diploma and at least 4 years of trade experience.
- US citizenship and ability to obtain required clearance.
- Experience working with electric utility, emergency and critical‑load power, and distributed generation.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and MOPs.
- Strong understanding of power density and HVAC capacity parity.
- Ability to use hand tools, test equipment, and troubleshoot advanced electrical circuits.
- Experience with preventive maintenance of electrical systems in a facility setting.
- Experience operating and inspecting emergency power generation and reliability equipment.
- Experience interpreting building codes and regulations.
- Willingness to use a company vehicle as required; must have an acceptable driving record.
