Position within the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Starting monthly salary at the minimum rate of pay advertised above.

• Manages and operates a farm program.
• Directly supervises crew leaders and farm laborers.
• Keeps records and prepares reports.
• Operates and maintains farm equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Experience, education, or training demonstrating the ability to read, comprehend, and apply written and oral directions.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

• 3 years of responsible farm work experience in one or a combination of the following areas:

• 2 years of supervisory work experience required, including planning, organizing, scheduling, directing work of others, assigning and reviewing work, advising on work problems, training and developing subordinates, and evaluating performance.

• Study at an accredited institution in agriculture may be substituted for experience as follows:
• 15 semester hours for six months of experience, with at least one course in plant/crop propagation or livestock management, up to a maximum of two years of general experience.
• For these substitutions, six of every fifteen semester hours must have been in agricultural or related courses, and the required knowledge listed under General Experience must be provided.
• Successful completion of an agricultural curriculum leading to a diploma or certificate may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis up to a maximum of two years of general experience.
• Successful completion of a farm practicum providing one semester of on‑the‑job vocational/technical competencies may be substituted for six months of general experience.

• Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Requirement:

• Valid driver’s license required at time of appointment.
