Actio Net has an immediate opportunity for an Engineering and Installation Technician (Junior) (Part time or Full time) located in Honolulu, Hawaii
. This entry‑level position includes an upward mobility path to a mid‑level role. Primary duties include Inside Plant Cable (ISP) installation. The installer must understand comprehensive installation‑specific information to plan and execute tasks, including installing CAT5, CAT5E, CAT6, and fiber, installing data racks and network equipment‑land cables on device ends, terminating and certifying cables under close supervision.
Salary range: $35,000 to $52,000
Physical Responsibilities- Lift up to 50 lbs frequently and occasionally overhead, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach, and utilize both hands and feet in aerial and underground capacities.
- Environmental exposure includes heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration, and very loud noise. Requires ability to sit for extended periods, stand, bend, walk, communicate via telephone, computer, and/or face‑to‑face contact, monitor vision, and use basic office equipment such as a personal computer, copier and fax machines regularly.
- Work performed in and out of an office environment.
- Assist in installing voice and data cabling, including copper and fiber‑optic terminations and installations (CAT5, CAT5E, CAT6) following EIA/TIA standards and BICSI guidelines.
- Assist in documenting the network by labeling and routing equipment and cables.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing equipment and ISP/OSP cabling issues.
- For OSP tasks, assist in field installation of OSP cable and gather data for engineering and design of aerial, underground, and buried fiber‑optic facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to pass a Federal Background check.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a valid passport (for travel).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to make independent judgment and perform repetitive tasks.
- Within 90 days of start date, complete OSHA‑10 certification.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
