Summary
This position, located at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH), Honolulu, HI, supports the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Sports & Fitness Branch and the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Recreational Fleet and Family Readiness Support Services. The incumbent provides labor assistance to the Regional Grounds.
DutiesThe incumbent performs the following functions: operates heavy power mowers, adjusts blades, cleans and oils mowers; cuts trees using axe or chainsaw; digs ditches and trenches with pick and shovel; grades and slopes soil; occasionally breaks up pavement with jackhammer; mixes and pours concrete, asphalt, and hot mix; fills and levels bogs in damaged roads; and performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications- Ability to operate, control, and maintain heavy power equipment safely.
- Experience with heavy tools and continual care to avoid accidents.
- Experience in completing multi‑task assignments requiring remembering directions and sequences.
- Responsibility and independent work; supervisor gives only initial instructions.
- Exerts heavy physical effort: lifting objects over 50 lb, running power mowers on grades, pushing heavy wheelbarrow loads of cement.
- Able to work indoors in drafts, noise, dust, and in outdoor weather in all seasons; must wear issued protective gear.
- Must pass all applicable records and background check.
- Must successfully pass the E‑Verify employment verification check; discrepancies resolved as a condition of employment.
No positive education requirement.
Additional InformationSalary is dependent on experience and/or education. This position operates within a drug‑free Federal workplace.
