Duties
* You will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Industrial Waste Treatment Plant and the Bilgewater Treatment Train which are designed to satisfy various environmental standards and to prevent toxic wastes from entering Fort Kam.
* You will check all documents required for turn-in of wastes to the Industrial Waste Treatment Plant.
* You will assist generators when they request help in determining type and amount of chemical analysis is required.
* You will operate a tank truck to pick up and transport chemical wastes from generator's site to the treatment plant.
* You will be responsible for the proper treatment, dewatering, drumming, sampling, documentation and labeling of the waste until it is shipped off site.
* You will sample untreated waste after different waste streams are combined and sample untreated wastes periodically to confirm analysis. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Must be a US Citizen.
* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

* This is a bargaining unit position.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift Operator (FLO) certification.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* You will be required to possess a current CDL Class B license
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: : I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including receiving, segregating, identifying, classifying, storing, processing, and disposing of hazardous waste as well as primary, secondary, and tertiary wastewater treatment processes, specifically for industrial wastewater containing heavy metals, chemicals, and other industrial byproducts. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
