RIGGER with Security Clearance

Duties
* You will plan, lay out, assemble, repair, and install complex weight handling gear and various related support rigging.
* You will use equipment such as chain falls, gin poles, tackle blocks, gallows frames, or combinations of these to rig and move objects through confined areas where cranes or other mobile material handling equipment cannot be used.
* You will work aboard ships, floating crafts, hangers, or pier side.
* You will be responsible for the safety of workers near the rigged object, as well as the safety of equipment and materials.
* You will frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
* You will work indoors and outdoors and will be subject to all types of weather. Requirements Conditions of employment

* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator License.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. The ability to plan, lay out, assemble, repair and install complex weight handling gear and various related support rigging. The ability to determine the proper weight handling equipment and rigging gear required for the load. The ability to make difficult load routing judgements by considering factors such as size, shape, and location of the object; availability and strength of overhead support structures;

surface conditions; obstacles; and size of surrounding openings. The ability to use complex multipoint suspension techniques to permit maneuvering over, under, and around obstacles by tilting, dipping, and turning the suspended load. The ability to be responsible for the safety of equipment and materials handled, and for the safety of workers near the rigged object. The ability to apply sound judgement in selecting the appropriate safety gear and equipment for each assignment.

The ability to provide training and support to other employees. Willing and able to obtain licensing and certification for other activities, such as aerial work on platforms and handling explosives and hazardous materials. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
