Irrigation​/ Pesticide Application Assistant (Full-Time

Here at Oahu Country Club, we are currently looking for a Irrigation/Pesticide Application Assistant and if you have the skills, come join our Ohana.

Applies a variety of fertilizers and pesticides on all turf and landscape areas using various application equipment. Maintains and repairs all components of the irrigation system including minor servicing of the main and booster pump stations and wells. Assist in Equipment Operator and Section Person duties when needed. Assist in all in-house construction and renovation projects.

• Helps to maintain all aspects of the golf course and Grounds irrigation system.
• Pipe, sprinkler and valve installation & repairs.
• Learns to check sprinklers to assure proper operation.
• Learns to investigate wet and dry areas, troubleshoots and learns to repair electrical problems to sprinkler heads.
• Helps Irrigation Tech audit sprinklers & valves of their functionality.
• Learns to isolate irrigation system to perform repairs.
• Digging using hand tools and mechanical tools.
• Begins training for use of; backhoe, front-end loader, skid-steer loader, mini excavator & fork-lift.
• Will be trained and achieve proficiency on Equipment Operator and Groundskeeper position standards. Will substitute in those roles, as assigned by the superintendent and assistant superintendent.
• Assist in-house construction and renovation projects including irrigation and drainage work.
• Will be supervised while applying fertility and pesticides to the club grounds.
• Will be trained on Hawaiʻi Commercial & Private pesticide application licensed techniques.
• Will be trained on Integrated Pest Management.
• Will be trained on time-management, project preparation & completion, and managing golf course playing surfaces with irrigation and application techniques.
• Assist in any storm damage clean up and repairs.
• Any & all needs of the golf course, as determined by the supervisory staff.
• Other duties may be assigned.
