The Small Tools Crib Coordinator is responsible for the management, tracking, maintenance, distribution, and inventory control of all small tools, equipment, and consumables used by project personnel. This position ensures tools are available, properly maintained, accounted for, and issued efficiently to support daily operations while maintaining accurate records and compliance with company policies.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBIITIES- Manage the daily operation of the Small Tools Crib.
- Issue, receive, and track small tools and equipment assigned to employees and projects.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using company tracking systems, spreadsheets, or asset management software.
- Conduct routine inventory audits and cycle counts.
- Inspect tools and equipment for damage, defects, and serviceability.
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and replacement of damaged or worn tools.
- Monitor inventory levels and submit purchase requests for replenishment of tools and consumables.
- Maintain proper storage, organization, and housekeeping of the tool crib.
- Track tool assignments and ensure timely return of company assets.
- Assist with mobilization and demobilization of project equipment and small tools.
- Maintain records of warranties, inspections, certifications, and service history.
- Support field personnel with tool requests and equipment needs.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Prepare reports on inventory status, tool utilization, losses, and replacement costs.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding tool repairs, purchases, and rentals.
- Understanding of construction and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to maintain accurate inventory and asset records.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to identify damaged or unsafe tools.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift and move equipment and materials safely.
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of inventory control, warehouse, tool room, equipment, or construction support experience preferred.
- Knowledge of construction tools, power tools, and equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Experience with inventory management or asset tracking systems preferred.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
