- Assessment: $5,519 to $6,291 per month (SR-20, Step D to I)
- Geographical: $5,519 to $6,291 per month (SR-20, Step D to I)
- Assessment and Geographical: $5,719 to $6,381 per month (SR-20, Step D to I)
- HSP IV:
- General HSP positions within CWS: $5,860 to $6,753 per month (SR-22, Step D to I)
- Assessment: $6,060 to $6,841 per month (SR-22, Step D to I)
- Geographical: $6,060 to $6,841 per month (SR-22, Step D to I)
- Assessment and Geographical: $6,260 to $6,931 per month (SR-22, Step D to I)
Geographical shortage positions include:
- West Hawaii CWS Section
- Maui CWS Section
- Oahu CWS Section 4
The positions are located in the Child Welfare Services Branch (CWSB) of the Department of Human Services. The CWSB provides services for child protection, foster care, adoption, independent living skills, case management, foster home recruitment, licensing and contracted support and treatment services to prevent and remedy abuse and neglect.
Applicants will be placed on the eligible register for all levels for which they are qualified.
Minimum Qualifications- Legal Authorization to Work:
All persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. - Basic
Education:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, including a minimum of 12 semester credit hours in courses such as counseling, criminal justice, human services, psychology, social work, social welfare, sociology or other behavioral sciences. - Specialized
Experience:
Six months for Level II; one and one-half years for Level III; 2½ years for Level IV of progressively responsible professional work experience involving helping individuals and families find satisfactory solutions to problems and function effectively. - Substitutions Allowed:
Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements. - Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for some positions at the time of appointment.
