Visitor Information Program Assistant I – Responsible for greeting, welcoming, and assisting the traveling public at Kahului Airport; provide visitor information to encourage travel to Hawaii; perform clerical duties and related tasks as assigned.

Kahului Airport

$3,266 to $4,139 per month (SR-08, Steps C‑I) Level I

Applicants must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Greet and welcome travelers at the airport.
• Assist the traveling public with information and direction.
• Encourage travel to the major islands in Hawaiʻi.
• Perform various clerical duties and other related tasks as assigned.

• Basic
  
  Experience:
  
  Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions; high verbal skill; a high school diploma or equivalent qualifies.
• General
  
  Experience:
  
  One year of work experience demonstrating patience, tact, and an even temper in dealing with others.
• Driver’s License:
  Valid driver’s license at time of appointment.
• Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance:
  Pre‑employment fingerprint‑based criminal history record check; no disqualifying convictions within ten years.
• Legal Authorization to Work:
  Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or otherwise eligible for unrestricted employment.
• Substitutions may be allowed as per Minimum Qualification Requirements.
