Recruitment Number 26-0168. Vacancy is with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in Waimanalo/Kailua. Salary: $6,043 to $7,351 per month (SR-24, Step D to I).
Responsibilities- Type A:
Unit supervisors with full technical and administrative responsibility over a group of subordinate social workers and other professional staff. Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing unit activities to meet program objectives, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating staff work, providing technical guidance, staff training and development, counseling, and disciplinary actions. - Type B:
Program specialists or staff consultants assigned to new or existing programs or major segments of large programs. Responsibilities include monitoring program relevance, developing and evaluating program components in response to policy changes, creating staff training materials and programs, implementing training; may provide direction to lower‑level specialists or serve as team leaders.
Basic
Education:
- Social Worker:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education accredited program, or a doctoral degree from an accredited institution. - Human Services Professional:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university with a minimum of 12 semester credit hours in counseling, criminal justice, human services, psychology, social work, social welfare, sociology, or other behavioral sciences.
Specialized
Experience:
- Social Worker – Bachelor’s degree: 3 years;
Master’s degree: 2 years;
Ph.D. degree: 1 year. - Human Services Professional: 3½ years.
Additional requirements include drug screening and an intensive background check. Substitutions are allowed as defined in the Minimum Qualification Requirements.
