These positions are located in the Child Welfare Services Branch (CWSB) of the Department of Human Services. They are responsible for providing supportive services to social service professionals through the performance of extensive fieldwork and outreach services.
The CWSB provides services for child protection, foster care, adoption, independent living skills, case management, foster home recruitment and licensing, and contracted support and treatment services to prevent and remedy abuse and neglect.
Applicants will be placed on the eligible register for all levels for which they are qualified.
QualificationsLegal Authorization to Work Requirement: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Basic Education/
Experience:
Graduation from high school or equivalent; or experience which demonstrated the ability to read, comprehend and apply written directions, a high degree of verbal skill and the ability to make basic mathematical computations, including averaging.
Specialized
Experience:
For Level II
- One (1) year;
Level III
- Two (2) years;
Level IV
- Three (3) years of experience in providing supportive services to professional workers in a social service or health related agency (e.g., performing clerical tasks, transporting clients and materials, explaining services, assisting in group activities). Experience must involve engaging with clients.

Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
